SSSAD - Your Choice For Sports
Jan 26, 2008

The purpose of SSSAD is to plan, supervise and coordinate interschool athletics activities, leagues, and city championships in Saskatoon. SSSAD is responsible for administering 11 activities to 16 high schools for student athletes from Grades 9 though 12 in the Public School Division, Greater Saskatoon Catholic School Division and associate member schools.  SSSAD promotes interschool athletics as an integral part of the total education process.

The Saskatoon Secondary Schools Athletic Directorate, originally known as the Saskatooon Central Athletic Directorate (CAD), was composed of original member schools from Bedford Road, Nutana, City Park, Saskatoon Technical Colegiate , St. Pauls and Sion. Only Bedford Road remains as a full fledged participating member of SSSAD from the original schools.  CAD was administered by a board composed of one physical education teacher from each of the member schools.  This structure remains in place today.   The first Championship administered by CAD was in the sport of football in 1936 when Saskatoon Technical College was awarded the 4A City Football Championship.

In 1969, the name of the sport governing body for high school athletics in Saskatoon was changed to The Saskatoon Secondary Schools Athletic Directorate (SSSAD) and membership has grown to include 13 member high schools  and 4 associate members.which include Saskatoon Christian School, Christian Centre Academy, L'ecole Canadienne Francais and Joe Duquette High School.

Please take the time to enjoy the exhibition of skills by student athletes in an educational setting.  "Today's Student Athletes, Tomorrow's Stars"
